Gistihúsið – Lake Hotel Egilsstadir is an established and renowned, family run, hotel in a farming district. “Great hotel to see the Northern Lights” stayed November 2015. “We spent one night here on our tour of Iceland in winter. The hotel was very nice indeed with clean, spacious rooms and warm bathrooms with underfloor heating. The restaurant in particular was excellent. We were also lucky enough to see the Northern Lights over the lake, a real bonus!”
