Memories of East Iceland – A workshop in the Technical museum

A two hour course at the Technical Museum of east Iceland, will introduce participants to aspects of  development of modern times and technology in (East) Iceland through printed media.

Participants will get a unique insight and hands on experience with the Museum’s printing equipment and collection of printing clichés from different periods over the last century, printing and binding their own small collection of postcards and a memory book to take with them as a handmade, local memorabilia from Seydisfjördur. – One of the first towns in Iceland with an own press and newspaper print and later an important centre for arts and culture.

The course welcomes all from bigger children to pensioners to try out basic bookbinding and printmaking at a site full of local heritage and history.
